So, I’m somehow 50 years old. I don’t know how this happened so quickly; it’s fairly embarrassing. One minute you’re a 20 year old dumbass, and the next minute you’re 50, doughy, and still holdin’ the line on the dumbass. Sweet sainted mother of Buzz Capra!
Here are some other people who were born on November 30, according to biography dotcom: Dick Clark, Winston Churchill, Abbie Hoffman, Billy Idol, Ben Stiller, Mark Twain, Ridley Scott, and Bo Jackson.
They also list someone named Larry Hoover. Never heard of him… but he’s described as a “drug dealer, white collar criminal, murderer, thief.” Sounds like an interesting, well-rounded fellow.
It would be hard for me to choose a favorite member of the November 30 club, but it would probably come down to Churchill or Twain. I’m also fond of Dick Clark. Who’s your favorite notable born on the same day as you? Please tell us about it in the comments.
Tonight I’m going to Philadelphia to see Graham Parker and the Rumour in concert. I saw him once, in Atlanta, but it was just a solo show — Graham and his acoustic guitar. This time it will be the original band, back together after more than 30 years. I’m excited. If you’re unfamiliar with GP, check out the video below. How was that song not a hit??
Surf Reporter dr. drofub will be going to the show with me and Steve. He’s also invited us to his house for cheesesteaks, fries, and microbrew. So, I’ll be semi-drunk with a distended gut by show time. And that’s just the way I like it.
Tomorrow night I’m going out to dinner with the family, and I took Sunday off from work. So, this is going to be one big birthday festival weekend. Pass the beer nuts.
I need to cut this one a little short, because I have to clean up the family room before Steve gets here. It looks like the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms searched the place, so I’d better get to tidyin’. The shit’s ridiculous.
Please tell us the favorite people with whom you share a birthday. Use the comments link below.
And remember — if you’re going to do some Amazon shopping this weekend, please don’t forget to click through one of our links first. It costs you nothing extra, but I’ll get a tiny sliver of whatever you spend. And it adds up nicely. Here’s a link, in case you’re confused. Just click-through and shop as you normally would. It’s much appreciated.
I’ll be back on Monday, if not sooner.
Have a great weekend, my friends!

Happy birthday, Jeff. 🙂
Upon further research, I found I share a birthday with Joan Osborne, the chick who sang about God being one of us. Hers was the first CD I ever bought, after I got my first CD player in 1995. It’s still one of my favorites. So I choose her.

Happy 50Th Jeff!!!!
Thinking about it, I’m pretty pleased with my list. I got me some good musicians, decent actors, a bad-ass train robber and whiskey. September 5th… ya pumped out some good ones!
Happy Birthday, Jeff!
Give me a call if you need bail money.
While I share a birthday with many famous people .. I am most impressed that June Ninteenth is also Juneteenth
Juneteenth is the oldest nationally celebrated commemoration of the ending of slavery in the United States.

Happy Belated Birthday Jeff — hope you got to sit in the ‘Birthday Chair’ with someone since Shawn wasn’t available! And yes, 50 sux. I’ve been 50 for 7 days now….
