OK, here it is. I’ve been threatening this abomination for weeks, and I’m finally unleashing it. I recorded this today, and there are no edits whatsoever. Not because it couldn’t use a few, but because I’m fairly lazy. I’m interested in what you guys think of my voice; is it anything like you expected, or way off? Also, how can I improve the podcast, technically? Does it sound OK? What do you think?
And, of course, if you’d like me to answer any other questions, put ’em in the comments section below.
Thanks for reading… and now listening!

I think you should deliver a PSA at the end of each podcast.
Jeff! I had heard your voice before when you used to read some of the posts for a while. I was shocked then and remain shocked now due to your (what I deem) complete lack of any accent. As I have told you before, all of my family are from WV (various parts) and they are way twangy. I live in Texas and have been accused of sounding “hicky”
I have heard myself on tape and I can say that I hate my voice. I sound like Minnie Pearl.
You don’t have any accent to me but it doesn’t matter. I love you just as much with one or without one ! ๐
You need a fun little music intro! ๐
Thanks, I really enjoyed the podcast. Your voice was not what I expected (I don’t know what I was expecting…) but it was old hat half way through. I do sense a bit of a southern flavor but I am Canadian, eh. The whole thing just seemed very well paced and relaxed and I laughed out loud in a few places. I heard this one at work, I’m looking forward to hearing the next one from home…with the volume turned up a little more and a pint in hand.
Definitely last again! Jeff, I heard the old audio files that you used to have on the site (what happened to those?) so I knew what to expect. You do have a bit of a Pennsylvania accent creeping in — at least I think so — that shares some similarities with the Western PA accent. Or maybe I’m just hearing things.
The podcast was cool, and the “Ums” didn’t bother me, but then again I was hungover and nursing a beer when I listened.
I am now ruined. While reading Jeffs words I always heard the voice of Red off That 70’s show in my head. You know when he is mad as hell and jumping down Eric’s throat. The surf report will never be the same for me again, sadly.
