The New River Gorge Bridge. It’s more amazing in person than in a photo.
My Mom and Dad. Looking good for 76 years old!
Below the bridge, with some swimmers (and some drinkers). That dude sitting on the rock is working on a Coors Light.
Cashing in on the whole hillbilly thing. Eh, not a fan. In fact, I don’t even know how that shit’s “hillbilly.” Who would buy that? Seriously.
A terrifying display in a drug store. WTF??
Me and my brother. I don’t know what’s going on with my head. It’s perfectly round now, like Bobby Hill? And I swear I don’t have a double chin. Wildly unflattering…
More homespun “comedy.”
Hillbilly briefcase. I was near-tears by this point.
One of the most photographed spots in West Virginia: Hawks Nest State Park.
Now playing in the bunker

The nature is beautiful. The hillbilly souvenirs, not so much.
Thoughts:
Beautiful pictures of West Virginia.
Drugstore sledgehammer: #marketing
Hint: find a teenage girl to give you selfie-taking lessons.
I have only ever been there once. I think it was around 74/75 when they were still building it. I was 8 or 9 years old.
Breathtaking pictures, Jeff. The water is so clean. You’ve got a great looking family. Cherish those memories.
I if you ever curate an e-commerce business, you have a customer for life.
Great photos and glad you had a swell vacation.
Nice to see that novelty gag gifts are still alive and well in America….
Your parents look healthy. They must stay away from fast food and chain restaurants…unlike, um, some of their offspring. I mean kin.
Went White Water Rafting on the New River about 20 years ago–that was a fun and beautiful trip.
What a beautiful state WV is…
Cool.
…and then I noticed that the sling shot and clubs where made out of plastic. WTF. Can’t Mr.HillbillyBreifcase pick up some sticks from around the area? =-)
It might be a gag gift, but those chocolate-covered sunflower seeds sound pretty awesome! I don’t think I’ve ever even heard of such a thing here in the Buckeye State…we just have those peanut butter and chocolate Buckeyes (YUM!) I hope you enjoyed being with your folks.
Chocolate-covered sunflower seeds are real, and they are delicious!
I need to hear you and Tim sing the Nehi jingle on your podcast together. It’s been 45 years, goddammit. Get the band back together. Last time was in my moms backseat of her car.
No idea what you are talking about. More details please.
Jeff, don’t stand next to your brother’s peanut head and yours melon won’t look so huge. Nothing says redneck more than the ceiling tiles at that drugstore…..yuk!
Was that pic of you and your brother taken at one of those ” Mystery Spots” ? That would explain why your head looks so big but your brother looks like Michael Keaton at the end of “Beetlejuice”. Like we say here in NJ, I’m just saying.
