Yesterday’s update, about Beatles Rock Band, is currently being discussed at Metafilter, a site that receives monster-traffic. So far I’ve only scanned the comments there, but will go back and read them when I get a chance.
I did notice the words “Erma” and “Bombeck,” which makes me sad in my soul. So, maybe I don’t want to read the comments? Yeah, right.
As I type this, the avalanche of visitors from Metafilter has slowed TheWVSR, and it’s loading like it’s 1996. A good problem to have, as they say, but still as irritating as a bucktoothed holy-roller.
Pass the beer nuts.
Also, I appreciate your feedback on my first-ever podcast, posted Friday. Let’s see… I sound southern, northern, and from the mid-west? Cool! I guess I’m doing something right… or horribly wrong.
Some people mentioned, or implied, that I’m less manic than they imagined. A few folks seemed to be disappointed by this fact. But hey, that’s the way it’s gonna be. All my adult life I’ve been described as “laid-back.” It’s who I am, for better or worse.
I will try to cut down on the number of times I say “um” in the next installment. You guys are right about that: way too many ums. But if you think I’m going to start marching around the room and waving my arms in the air, like Patch Adams or somesuch, you’re going to be mighty disappointed.
I’ll attempt to make it interesting and fun (lots of room for improvement on that front), but not by hollering like a Hyundai commercial. Sorry, but that ain’t in my DNA.
And finally… Over the weekend I’m going to start transitioning my Facebook profile to a Facebook page. I need to have a personal profile there, for family and friends, and another for the website. The two worlds don’t mix very well, and it’s always felt kinda weird to me.
So, at 3 o’clock this morning I set up this page, and I’d be honored if you became a “fan.” The page still needs a lot of work, but it’s functioning. It’ll get better with time, I promise.
Over the next few days I’m going to change the picture at my personal profile, and start un-friending folks I don’t know in the physical world. No offense to anyone, of course, I just want to keep the two things separate. We’ll continue as normal at the new page, and I’ll talk to my cousins at the old one. OK?
The Question of the Day… Eventually I want to start conducting telephone interviews for the podcast, and I’d like your suggestions on people I might approach. You can be as serious or as silly as you want to be with this. Heck, list dead people if you’d like.
But I really would like to start doing interviews of unusual, semi-obscure people. I have a few listed in my notebook already, and think it could be a blast.
So, help me out with that if you will. Who would like to hear me interview in a future podcast?
And I’m going to get ready for work now, then drive the Green Mile.
See you guys tomorrow.
Swami Bologna –
there must be something in the water or somehow I took the blue pill instead of the red one. I could have sworn the very first picture yesterday was Rue, but now I’m suffering from serious doubts.
Ted Nugent
I think Buck or Metten should interview St. Toney.
