Nice. Can’t wait to read it.

I hope you’ll be able to take the family out to a nice dinner tonight. This is a significant accomplishment. You deserve a fatburger with lots of grease and several microbrews. I am one very proud Reporter today.

Jeff, well done. That pretty much sums it up nicely although a picture of Nancy standing on a corner with her ski poles would been more hilarious. Well done…

Jeff,
Definitely go on the air w/ Joe T. Class act (don’t repeat that!) and it will expand a local following. Be as incognito as you want. Do one of those 60 Minutes terrorist interviews where they make your voice like a drunk turtle’s and give you “cloudy head.” I’ll even send you drinks at your “yuppie bar” and not even dream of approaching your table.
[Reply]
The cover looks great!
It’s your scene and I’m freaking out!
[Reply]
The next book might have to be a graphic novel. The ski poles convinced me.
[Reply]
Thanks, folks. The Evil Twin is indeed talented as hell. The cover makes it clear that the book is probably a comedy, but doesn’t cross over into full-on zaniness. It also looks great, I think, both full-sized and as a thumbnail. I love it. I’m glad you guys do, too.
[Reply]
congrats and best of luck! Hope it sells out!

So is this going to be released on amazon.co.uk at the same time as amazon.com? and what’s it going to cost?
[Reply]
Jeff Reply:

It will definitely be available at amazon.co.uk I haven’t decided on a price for the paperback, but it’ll be reasonable. I won’t be pricing it like a text book, or anything like that.

Double-handed hair whipping? This is gonna be good! Great job, Evil Twin. And proud as hell of ya, Jeff. I know you were writing before then, but I’m proud to have been a part of your little world since the days of the early bright blue, big-fonted Surf Report!

The bunker cam picture reminds me of when I was little and having tests done at the hospital, the guy sitting across from me had on a hospital gown and was sitting with his leg crossed with one foot up on his knee, I could see EVERYTHING and didn’t know what to do. Luckily a nurse noticed my red face and quietly told the guy to put his leg down. Here I was a girl around 8 maybe? having tests done and my parents weren’t there. Funny now, but not so much then!
[Reply]
That looks awesome, Jeff. Congrats and I am elevating my usual subdued excitement for your success.
Also, Evil Twin, the guy who told me to give “In Through The Out Door” a second chance when I tried to return it due to dissatisfaction. Art talent is a rare thing. That envelops JK’s whole personality.
Great job, guys.

One thing folks. For you people who get the downloaded version, don’t come on here and start telling everyone what it’s about and whatnot. Those of us who are going to read the printed version would appreciate it. Also, corporate office has orders to delete any posts which contain details of the book’s contents. Just a comment about how you enjoyed it or didn’t (Nazi’s) will do. Thanks – Management

Yeah, I finally had to install windshield wipers on my flatscreen. The last straw comment was, “Look at my hand? Will I need a warshcloth?”
That’s from memory and might be a word or two off, but those WV boys kill me every time. In cahoots with Ohio boys they’re stronger than catfood or Nixon. They write, I spit.

Jeff, you appear to be clutching your head. I do that a lot, especially when chasing down an error in the source code of whatever my current project is.
So. I expect to be seeing you on Letterman *soon*, plugging your book. Let me know when that will happen.
Today’s quotes (make it a double):
“Say what you will about the Ten Commandments, you must always come back to the pleasant fact that there are only ten of them.” ~H.L. Mencken
“I used to eat a lot of natural foods until I learned that most people die of natural causes.” ~Author Unknown

I came home late from work yestreday and found my hours have been halved because a guy is coming back after 4 months sick leave and the guy who was subbing for him has union senority over me even though he’s a lame ass waddling oaf. I understand his knee problems and has a hard time moving let alone trying to find a reason to. Anyway…I sat down with some nice tea and remedy for dented plans and stared at your cover. It didn’t take long to find meaning in my life again. All the years of sexual abuse I suffered at my own hands now seemed worth it. Thank you for you book and showing me I have always been the better for taking matters into my own hands when I would be denied that which I seek.
Congrats Jeff!

Jeff…
I suspect that the book tour idea doesn’t appeal to you much; I know you’re a private person, and the idea of performing readings from your book to strangers might not work for you. So I have another idea.
Can you ask your nice celebrity friend to make some calls in NYC to try to get you booked on a cable TV show, a local TV show, or a local radio show? I imagine she would be willing to accompany you if her schedule allowed, but whether she did or not, you could easily reach half a million people on a local TV (more on cable) or a quarter million on radio.
I’ve done a fair number of media interviews, both as the interviewer and the interviewee, and would be happy to help you practice via phone or Skype. It’s not as scary an experience as it sounds. Also, there are probably Reporters geographically closer to you who have similar experience and could coach you face to face.
An appearance that reaches 250,000 to a million people would sell some books — don’t think it wouldn’t. And if you survive the interview process (which you will), you will have gained valuable experience for future interviews.
I really don’t think this is a pie-in-the-sky idea. I believe it’s a realistic tactic to attempt; my understand is that your friend has offered to help in any way she can. In this case, she must know radio and TV hosts and Program Directors who might want to do her a favor.
I hope you’ll at least consider this marketing approach; as I say, I will help in every possible way.
Onward.
